Celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary ~ 5 Free Resources

Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary Resource Round-Up

The feast of Our Lady of Victory or Our Lady of the Rosary is right around the corner. It is only a few days away, in fact.

I find this particular Marian feast day very interesting. The history behind it and how the feast day came to be is really quite fascinating. It is rooted in the power of Our Lady’s amazing intercession and, naturally, the power of praying the Rosary.

The feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, or as it was originally called the feast of Our Lady of Victory, came to be because of a battle. Yes! That’s right! Pope Saint Pius V named October 7 the feast of Our Lady of Victory because of the victory of the battle of Lepanto. He attributed the Christians’ victory in the battle to Our Lady’s powerful intercession through the Rosary.

The story behind this feast day is really amazing. Our last Immaculata Kids letter for the month of October tells the story about Pope Saint Pius V, the battle of Lepanto, and Our Lady of the Rosary.
